Spark
By Brigitte Foisy
“One sentence, one song, one sermon or one uncomfortable moment can ignite something in us. SPARK is about the inspiration that moves us from simply believing to living our faith out loud, and into the full, purposeful life He created us to live.”
Give Thanks… Really?
It’s easy to give thanks when everything is going well. But God calls us to gratitude even when life feels overwhelming. But why? Because thankfulness is more than good manners—it’s God’s will for us, and it shapes our faith, our perspective, and even our health.
Where Did “Agreeing to Disagree” Go?
It feels like everywhere we look—in the news, online, or even on the road—we’re surrounded by rage, hatred, and negativity.
Whatever happened to simply scrolling past, unfollowing quietly, or just moving on?
If we clash with those who know us best, how much more should we expect to differ with strangers who don’t know us at all?
Maybe the world needs a reminder on how to disagree…
Pray Like You Know Who You Are
Do you know any prayer warriors? The kind whose prayers seem to shake heaven and silence hell? I admire them deeply. To me, those intercessors who pray with boldness, passion, and precision are like spiritual weightlifters — built strong through intimacy with God and trained in the authority they've inherited in Christ.
SPARK: I Drive Fast, I’m a Little Bougie, and I Love Jesus
I like a red lip, high heels, funky sneakers, oversized glasses, and Botox.
I live in black tailored clothes, I drive a two-seater, and I love traveling, dining out, and going to the spa.
I’m bold and passionate. I speak loudly. I laugh louder.
I’m a leader, a bridge builder, a fighter for the ones I love.
I embrace my “bougieness” as well as my black belt in shopping.
I love Gucci, Tom Browne, and Chanel—and yes, I love Jesus.
SPARK: The boost we need to take on the week!
One of my favourite words in the Bible is “but.” Because when “but God” appears in Scripture, it signals a turning point. It’s where the story shifts—when what was lost is found, when death gives way to life, when blindness becomes sight, when there was no way…
Allow Joy To Reintroduce Himself
We build our happiness around people, accomplishments, and things. And I think that’s why so many marriages crumble, why people grow to resent their dream jobs—because we’ve made our joy conditional on outcomes. I’ll be honest: I’ve often tied my happiness to achievement. And sometimes, I’ve seen God the same way—believing He wanted to use me to accomplish something.
But this message from Pastor Tauren Wells reminded me of a deeper truth: the greatest treasure is simply being loved by God—because He is the essence of joy.
