Friends for a Reason, a Season, or for Life

This week, I had to say goodbye to two people—and it made me thinking about the beautiful truth tucked into a phrase I once read: “Friends for a reason, friends for a season, and friends for a lifetime.”

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting and building various types of relationships with remarkable people—some vital to my healing, growth, survival, and success. I’ve also lost contact with many, not out of conflict, but simply because life moved on. Scripture tells us that “there is a time for everything”… and that includes friendships. Not everyone is meant to be your friend forever.
