September has always felt more like a new year than January. In this month’s editorial, Kara Alloway takes a fresh look at fall style through a simple edit: what to keep, what to change, what to add, what to let go of and where it’s worth investing. There is no denying it. The West has officially ridden into mainstream culture. Not just fashion, but everything. Streaming content. Series. Music. Festivals. Travel. It seems everyone is chasing a slower pace, open skies, and a little authenticity. Who needs another vacay in Europe, elbowing through crowded streets when the mountains of Calgary or the rolling plains of Wyoming are calling?

Ever since my gig on The Traitors Canada last fall, I am far less interested in surrounding myself with people who look exactly like me, vote like me, dress like me or were born the same decade I was. I've discovered one of life's sweetest gifts is friendship that spans generations. Some of my greatest influences are women twenty years older than me. Some are thirty years younger.
